Professional Certified CoachHello, I’m Michele Henkle Irelan, President of SuccessWorksÒ. Welcome to my website. I encourage you to take a tour and review the various services provided by SuccessWorks. If I can be of service to you, you would like additional information, you have a question or two, or would just like to talk with me in person, please contact me either by email or by phone. Below is a short narrative, just to let you know a bit about me, my personal and professional background, my coaching approach, my vision and what led me to the principles and practices of coaching. I am originally from Toronto, Canada, where my sisters still live. I moved to the United States in 1981 on a corporate transfer and have lived in Phoenix, Boston, and now San Antonio. I am married to a wonderful man named Michael and I have two step children and four wonderful grandchildren. Although I spent 30 years in the corporate arena, I have lived my whole life in the question of “What else can I learn, and how can I use it to make the world a better place and my life better”. Living in this question, plus an understanding that I am totally responsible for my life and how I create it, eventually lead me to the principles and practices of coaching, as a Professional Certified Coach. I’ll share a bit of my history so you can get to know me better. Over my professional career, I progressed from an airline reservation agent, Sales Manager for Southern Ontario for a wholesale travel company, Manager of two Call Centers in Toronto, Manager of Travel Agent and Corporate Marketing for North America for Best Western Hotels, Manager of Call Center Operations for North America for Best Western Hotels (4 satellite centers and a total of 888 staff), and then to Vice President of Reservation Services for La Quinta Inns. I was also President of I.A.H.R.E. (The International Association of Hotel Reservation Executives). In 1991, I created my own consulting company “Service Solutions International”, consulting with airlines and hotels on computerized call center environments. This provided an opportunity to share my knowledge and expertise in areas such as budget development and P & L management, recruitment, training, quality control, computerized system design and development, ergonomics, marketing and staff leadership & development. Looking back over the majority of my corporate career, I realized that who I was in all these positions was a coach. Encouraging, developing, mentoring, advising, and endorsing my staff and/or my clients in becoming the best they could be. Whether it be an individual willing, ready and able to grow professionally or a company or organization ready to be more effective, efficient and more profitable, I was there in a support role, coaching them to honor their values and vision while attaining their goals. I transitioned to coaching in 1994, when I became a student of Coach U, and began my coaching practice, under the name SuccessWorksÒ. I graduated from Coach U in 1996 and became a Professional Certified Coach through the International Coach Federation in 1999. I am a Corporate Coach U Coaching Clinic™ certified facilitator, a charter member of CoachVille.com, a board member of The San Antonio Professional Coaches Association, and a member of the International Coach Federation where I have served as a member of the Ethics and Standards Committee. Over the last eleven years my clients have included individuals looking to find their life purpose, management staff wanting to proceed up the corporate ladder or desiring a change in professions, individual professionals and consultants seeking extreme profitability and life balance, small business owners wanting to grow their businesses, and CEO’s and executives seeking to become more effective in their leadership roles. My knowledge of people and what makes them tick, my life experiences and human behavior & coaching training, plus my vision of a world where everyone lives their lives with passion and is personally, professionally and financially fit, has supported me as I’ve worked with individuals in achieving their personal goals. My belief is that every individual has within them the ability to create the life and lifestyle they want. I come from the place that we all make choices and are responsible for the results of the choices we make. As a coach I don’t necessarily know more than you do, however I have the unique vantage point of being outside your concerns, yet aligned with your commitments. I may see what you don’t see and hear what you don’t hear. This seeing and hearing can make a profound difference in your performance. I am committed to your greatness and may see the possibility of your greatness more clearly than you do. I enjoy all my clients as we develop a unique working relationship. I coach from a holistic perspective, meaning that I clarify with my clients, before they become clients, that we can go wherever we need to go in their life, in order for them to achieve their desired results. This means we can work on personal, professional, financial, physical and spiritual aspects of their life, should the need arise, during our coaching sessions. Because each of these is an integral part of who they are – we cannot leave any one area out. Together we close the gap between where you are and where you want to be.
