The company was established in 1981 as a people-skills training company, offering customized workshops in communication, team-development, goal-setting, time management, and sales. At the request of a single client, United Telephone Company, a two-day presentation skills training program was developed for their speaker's bureau. This program exploded in popularity, and after extensive research and refinement it was crafted into the Speakers Training Camp® workshop.
Since its beginning more than 20,000 people worldwide have attended the Speakers Training Camp® workshop. The workshop is based on over 20 years of audience research conducted by founder and CEO, Sue Gaulke. It is famous for its hands-on, results-oriented approach to helping individuals become better speakers and presenters.
She has entrusted her ground-breaking program to Jackie Weathers and Beverly Hinson who have a great passion for the program and have a combined 50 years of helping presenters become fearless and fantastic.
Jackie and Beverly's Story
Today Jackie Weathers and Beverly Hinson met in 2015 while attending NC State's Business Coaching Certification program. Over the 10-month program, the two became friends as well as forming mutual professional respect for each other.
After the arrival of her second grandchild, Beverly began exploring a change in her career path that would allow her to move to Charlotte, where she could spend more time with her family. Around the same time, Jackie happened to be passing through the area where Beverly lived, and the two reconnected over a casual brunch. The two friends thought they were just catching up, but that brief visit changed the course of both of their careers.
During brunch, Jackie noted her dear friend Sue Gaulke was retiring and expressed both her passion for the Speakers Training Camp® workshop and her desire to purchase the program.
Jackie had attended the program in 1999. She had been in the learning and organizational development field for many years and wondered why her organization was bringing in Sue for this program. She thought….I know what I am doing…She attended the workshop and was amazed at how much she learned. Wow! She has been a passionate supporter of the solid groundbreaking program ever since. She had started her own business in 2012 after needing more flexibility to help with her aging parents in Florida.
Beverly also had a passion for helping others improve their presentation skills and soon after, the two friends decided to join forces and continue the legacy Sue had created.
Beverly is an insightful influencer with 20+ years of progressive leadership experience directing multi-site human resources, learning and development, organizational development, and corporate communications operations within large billion-dollar organizations. She is a certified business coach.
Jackie is also a certified business coach, an enthusiastic engager with 30+ years of progressive leadership experience leading organizational development teams in the areas of leadership development, talent management, career development and professional development within a Fortune 50 organization.
